How Not to Get A Job: It's all about your BRAND

Being Good Is Not Enough...How to Market & Sell Your Twenty-Something Self by Lyn Chamberlin is a blog aimed at the Gen-Y demographic. The Brand-Dame gets a typical response to a search for a Director of Marketing. This causes her to muse on "How Not To Get A Job":
Of the 85 applications (resumes + cover letters) received so far, 73 are immediate "no-s." There are none in the "maybe" pile. Yikes! What's going on here? Am I being just a tad ruthless? You bet-- as a Director of Communications aspirant, your submission better be Perfect, and that's with a capital "P."
(Disclaimer: I'm searching for a Director of Marketing for my firm just now, and my experience is the same as hers!)

Everyone should check out her suggestions.
